Timeless black and white interiors
One of my favourite ways to add a quick update to an interior is by using pillows. Black and white will always be a classic combination, think of Chanel, Versace and Gucci. Choosing a monochrome interior is not boring! In fact using black and white can be very effective.
Black and white pillows are so versatile and can work perfectly in different settings, let us look at 3 scenarios – the classic home, the contemporary home, the outdoor patio area and even kids rooms. In this image below they are perfectly suited to add to the classic atmosphere in this home. The little pop of colour in the centre pillow adds so much punch to the room!

In a contemporary setting, the use of geometric black and white pillows are so effective. In this image below look at how the different patterns are working together, there are plaids, chevrons, stripes and small prints. There is almost no right and wrong here, just mix and match and have fun! Also keep in mind that using pillows of different sizes and shapes such as rectangles and square pillows will add so much interest.

In a patio setting the use of white and black with wicker/rattan or wood is a great combination. Look how effective this arrangement is with wide stripes, an ethic pattern and geometric shapes. The wooden legs of the planters are another great way to add some warmth into the space and here the use of metal in the occasional tables add some more patterns and interest into the space.

And who says, kids rooms have to be pastels or primary colours. The use of black and white in kids room can create a fun atmosphere, just make sure that you do use a pop of colour here or there. In this kids room the mirror images of the rabbits are just great – black bunny on a white background and a black bunny on a white background. And look at the eyes!
