Soothing sage bedroom
Green is such a powerful yet soothing colour. Green in nature or in homes evoke a feeling of abundance and growth and is associated with peace, rest, security and hope. In the year 2020 I think we all need to surround ourselves with colour that will give us rest from the strange times we are living in, and it should cocoon us in our home so that we can hope for some return to our once normal lives.
The Concept
The final design
The colour palette
Our colour palette consists of a beautiful sage green, soft white and a blue accent colour. Green and blues are next to each other on the colour wheel and creates a very a calming palette - in the design world this is known as an analogous colour scheme. The green wall colour is from Benjamin Moore, it is called Guilford green and pairs perfectly with Oxford white, which was used on all the trims, door and ceiling.
Wallpaper
In a room with a lot pattern, it is important to keep the wallpaper application to minimum as we have done in this design. You will notice we have only used it as a backdrop for the seating area and is a great contrast to the white leather chairs.
Textiles and Rugs
Using textiles in a room is so important, especially in a bedroom where you want escape to after a busy day. Using different patterns and textures adds layers and depth to your design. Here we have used fabrics from Thibaut and Kravet to create these beautiful pillows and accents on the bed. The drapes in a blocky/linear design softens the lines of the room and creates privacy. If you need assistance in choosing accents and decor items for a room, then read more about our Accessories consultation here.
The Miro rug is the perfect soft rug to have in this room - it has an ivory, taupe, blue and grey colour way and has a textured crosshatched design adding another layer of depth to the room.
