Luxury Staycation Bedroom
We are all dreaming of getting away to some restful retreat somewhere far away, but not this year! Most of us will be home this year, so here are a few ideas to create a luxury retreat at home!
Luxury is described as the state of great comfort and extravagant living and we all love the feel, look and taste of luxury. So what is it about staying in a boutique hotel that gives us that luxury experience? Is it the amazing big bed, the freshly laundered sheets, fluffy towels, the calming colour palette, the well-curated décor? Well it is all of these elements brought together into one space – these combined elements create grandness and opulence.
The good news is that it is entirely possible to re-create the same vibe and upmarket feel in your own home.
Texture
Texture is always present in all luxurious spaces and it reflects light in so many interesting ways and has an important effect on our visual interpretation of the room. Just think of the airiness of fine linen, the softness of velvet, the earthiness of fine wooden furniture and shimmer of shiny metals. Layering these different textures creates depth to your design and creates that classy, upmarket feeling. Natural materials such as marble, brass, leather and shagreen also adds another layer of opulence.
Fabulous textiles
Bedding is such an important element - the bed is the focal point of the room, so make sure you have the best bedding you can afford. In this room the bedding is in a chic colour way of white, grey, blue and a touch of yellow. Drapery just finishes a room – here we have a double rod system creating two layers of luxury – a soft sheer and solid puddled curtains.
Luxurious Furniture
Just imagine having a morning cuppa in the stunning Elle chair upholstered in a supremely fab metallic linen that shimmers from all angles. The gold stainless steel frame compliments the antique brass legs of the end table. The natural subtle veining in the marble top add further to the opulence. The brushed gold look gets repeated on our end table, it also has two sliding drawers to keep your room as tidy as a pin.
Mood lighting
Lighting is one of the easiest ways to create a soft luxury mood, here we have a mixture of lighting – stunning table lamps and wall sconces to illuminate the art and décor items. We just love the rich antique brass table lamps – they have a stunning pattern with a hollow core allowing the backdrop to peek through the design.
The little luxuries
Never under estimate the power of fresh flowers – you don’t need to spend a huge amount of money on a big bouquet. All you need is just a small arrangement such as we have on the night stands to create that glam look. Add a scented candle or two and you are in heaven!
